About Sarah Ferrell
Sarah Ferrell is a writer, portrait photographer, pet dog manners teacher, and canine behavior consultant. She writes dog columns: “Devoted To Dogs” for The Free Lance-Star newspaper; “The WebHunter”, for the English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Association’s, “Springer Spotlight” magazine; and, the English Springer breed column for the “AKC Gazette” magazine. “Devoted To Dogs” has won multiple ‘Best Newspaper Column‘ Maxwell Awards from the Dog Writer’s Association of America. Ms. Ferrell was the first recipient of the American Kennel Club’s “Responsible Dog Ownership Public Service” writing award. Her dog photography has appeared in many dog magazines and pet education publications.
Sarah is a member of the Dog Writer’s Association of America (DWAA), the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI), and is a Governor on the Board of the English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Association (ESSFTA).
Ferrell has taught obedience classes in the United States and Belgium. She has owned Dog Manners Behavior and Obedience for over 20 years.
When not occupied typing dog stories, with three dogs, Quinnton, Vivien and Gabriel, wedged under her desk, Sarah can be found with her husband, Neal Campbell, and their dogs romping deep in the woods of Spotsylvania, Virginia, or supervising dog swimming in the Neuse River, reading dog books and brushing long-haired dogs on the beach in Arapahoe, North Carolina.
